Leaving the City of Your Comfort…
“Be brave enough to live creatively. The creative is the place where no one else has ever been. You have to leave the city of your comfort and go into the wilderness of your intuition. You can’t get there by bus, only by hard work, risking, and by not quite knowing what you’re doing. What you’ll discover will be wonderful: yourself.” —Alan Alda
For the past 10 days, I have had a wonderful opportunity to escape to the wilderness of Indian Arm (and just maybe the wilderness of my intuition). After 6 weeks on the road, the chance to wake up in the same bed for more than a week felt like such a gift. It has been 2 months since I gave up my apartment and in some ways truly left the city of my comfort. What I know for sure is that Alan Alda is on to something when he says in the above quote, “You can’t get there by bus, only by hard work, risking, and not quite knowing what you are doing.” (more…)

I think being with family will be healing and am so glad you’re going. As of today, I’m leaving the city of my comfort as well and am taking a giant step off the porch. If things materialize like I hope, I won’t be traveling out of the country anytime soon. That is a bummer, but the condolence prize is that the new door I’ve created may lead to wondrous experiences. I’ll know in the next couple of weeks if the first step’s in place. If it’s not, I may hop a plane and join you in Vietnam. I’ll keep you posted.
XOXOXO,
Brenda
Can’t wait to hear about the giant step off the porch! Look forward to hearing more once you can share! Big hugs. T xoxo
Happy and joyous holidays with family! That’s great, Terri….. So glad to see this. And, Brenda….. you are being mysterious….. I love it… but I may want to join you. Could be I’ll be running away from home very soon. What happens when you already are down to Plan X? Do we get to move into the Greek alphabet just like they do with hurricanes? Sending love…. AnneMarie
Thanks Ann Marie – I think the Greek alphabet is a great back up plan…maybe it will help with the whole starting a fresh chapter bit! Can’t wait to catch up soon. T xo
There is no better way to spend the holidays! Enjoy one another and I so look forward to hearing more about your future adventures.
Thanks Tory – so nice to hear from you again and I’m glad to have you along for the ride! Hope you are settling in for a lovely holiday season as well! Terri
