What If We Saw Aging As A Privilege? This #GivingTuesday, Celebrate Your Age With Us.
Tell me what it is you plan to do with your one wild and precious life? ~ Mary Oliver
In a world of Botox and Rogaine, so many people are chasing youth; terrified of getting older. But, what if we saw aging as a privilege instead of the enemy? As someone who has been sick, I am thankful for every year I have on this earth. When you’ve faced cancer, getting older becomes something to celebrate. This holiday season, join me in celebrating every laugh line, every grey hair, and every scar that got us here.
As we kick off American Thanksgiving and the beginning of the holiday season on both sides of the border, we invite you to celebrate your age by donating a dollar for every year you’ve lived. Your donation this holiday season will help those impacted by cancer move forward with their lives.
Why We Are Celebrating Our Age By Donating:
We have known too many inspiring souls who are no longer on this earth because cancer cut their time short. In memory of them and in honour of patients who will spend this holiday season in chemotherapy chairs, waiting for radiation appointments, or recovering from surgeries, we invite you to make a donation to the Fresh Chapter Alliance Foundation (FCAF). With your support, in 2015, we can help cancer patients live beyond cancer and find more reasons to celebrate.
Join us. It’s fun. It’s easy. And, together, we will make a big impact:
- Step 1: Think about how many years of life you have to be grateful for.
- Step 2: Click on the donate button below and donate your age or donate your age plus the years you shared with someone who left us too soon.
- Step 3: Share this post on Facebook, Twitter, Linked In, or over email (tools and tips below). Why not share a picture of you or your family celebrating your age? Add the hashtag #fcaf & #Giving Tuesday to your post to become part of our tribe of people donating their age and celebrating life.
- Step 4: Challenge your friends and family to join you in donating their age this holiday season. Invite them to donate in memory of someone they have lost or in celebration for all they have to be grateful for.
