Connect. Serve. Heal. Will You Transform A Life in 2019?

Terri Wingham is the founder and CEO of A Fresh Chapter, a cancer survivor, and someone who believes that we are not defined by the most difficult aspects of our story.

Help people impacted by cancer to connect, serve, and heal – all while creating a ripple of good in the world!

A Fresh Chapter empowers men and women to step beyond the label of cancer patient, survivor or caregiver while giving back to communities at home and abroad.

As we kick off our year-end  Connect. Serve. Heal. fundraising campaign, we are excited to introduce you to Kate – a scholarship recipient from our 2017 Peru Odyssey program. Here is what she had to say a year later:

Odyssey is the perfect description of my experience traveling to volunteer in Peru. With the incredible support of my tribe mates, this odyssey allowed me to unburden myself of the paralyzing fear and guilt that accompanies a terminal diagnosis. Climbing Machu Picchu in this damaged, cancer-ravaged body wasn’t easy, but the experience taught me that yes, buried deep within me is a person who has a lot more life left in her. I cannot possibly articulate what type of impact that confidence has had on my post-Peruvian life. Funny enough, I really thought I would be focusing on the unbelievable connections I made with the 22 members of my A Fresh Chapter tribe, but I also find myself reflecting on the connection I tapped into with myself – my very own intuition.

This Year: Give A Gift That Transforms A Life

By supporting A Fresh Chapter, you help people impacted by cancer heal the emotional scars of the disease and redefine what is possible in their lives. 100% of your donations go directly to support the A Fresh Chapter Scholarship Fund recipients – just like Kate. All US Donations of $100+ are eligible for a tax receipt.

The Impact You Help Make Possible

As part of a broader framework of support, our 1-2 week meaningful volunteer experiences help participants see that struggle is universal and it is possible to heal, connect, and serve others, while reclaiming your life. Our programs not only heal the emotional scars of cancer for patients and caregivers, but also ripple out to create a positive impact on families, communities, and the projects we serve around the world.
