Why Our Work Matters

Treating cancer is about so much more than just addressing the physical disease. If we want people to truly heal, we must treat the emotional and psychological elements that so often hit when treatment ends or stabilizes.

Our innovative Fresh Chapter Alliance Foundation (FCAF) programming uses volunteering as a catalyst to help expand the story beyond cancer. Participants realize that they are not alone in their struggle while experiencing the joy that comes from giving back. By combining adventure and wellness activities, we create space for people to address some of the difficult emotions that come with cancer while simultaneously realizing that new dreams are possible for their lives. FCAF reconnects patients with their communities, their world, and most importantly to themselves.
