The Lighter Side of Cuzco…
So, when I rolled over on my top bunk on Sunday morning and saw the sun cresting above the mossy coloured mountains, I decided to spend my day off from my IVHQ volunteer program capturing some of the lighter images of Cuzco. Disappearing behind my camera is one of the most therapeutic ways I have found to release some of the sadness and stress on the road (and it’s probably healthier than drowning my sorrows in copious amounts of red wine – although I have been known to occasionally do that too 😉
Have you ever wanted to visit Cuzco? Well – here’s your chance. Lace up your sneakers and pull on a light coat because I want to share my Sunday (in all of her Peruvian glory) with you…
I would love to hear from you. What do you do to release the stresses in your life? Feel free to leave a comment below or click HERE to send me an email.

There’s that blue door again that I love so much! And the people? I just can’t describe my delight in seeing those who inhabit Cuzco.
To release the stresses in my life, I lay back, breathe in and out, and picture in my mind the turquoise waters in the lagoon of Aitutaki, a Cook Island near Rarotonga. I center on the mantra “Peace, Be Still” and any unwanted thoughts vanish into the vapor of the cosmos. Beautiful post! xx
Jan – I love your comment and your trick for releasing the stresses of life. It makes me want to visit Aitutaki! Big hugs from Peru. T xo
Thanks for that virtual visual treat! To banish stress (or to just ignore it), I do exactly what you just did: I disappear behind my camera lens. That, and hiking, are my primary stress relievers! 😉 Stay safe.
Thanks Renn – HIking and taking pictures – it’s a little slice of heaven, isn’t it? I will be thinking of you when I head for Machu Picchu on Sunday/Monday and will try to capture some great shots to share next week. Big hugs from Cuzco. Terri
Terri, You and your travels continue to astound me. Thank you for sharing so much of your experiences. Sharing our stories and the stories of others is what life is all about. To de-stress I walk my dogs.
Nancy – Thank you so much for joining me vicariously on this adventure. It’s such a pleasure to have you along for the journey:) Big hugs from Cuzco. Terri
