When was the last big disappointment in your life? I can’t lie to you; last Monday’s email from Virgin Atlantic saying that yes, our mob worked, but no they can’t help us fly the #Delhi2013 Dozen to India felt like a massive punch in the gut. We really believed that if we “mobbed” Richard Branson, he would come through for us as our “Angel Investor” and make huge dreams happen. He didn’t.

But…a week (and a few sleepless nights later), we realize that Virgin saying no is a good thing. Stay with me…this big disappointment actually opens the door for 12 “Angels” to give one of the most memorable gifts of their lives.

What am I talking about? Well, last week I spoke with fellow cancer survivor who shared a story about an incredible couple, whom she’d never met, who used their air miles to send her on an expedition with other cancer survivors. She owes this life-changing experience to these kind people and has never forgotten their generosity. Because of them, she was able to create positive memories with cancer survivors from across North America. (more…)
