If you saw the title of last week’s post, Sobbing on a Speeding Train, you probably didn’t even need to read it to imagine me boo-hooing all over myself and the window of an Ottawa bound VIA Rail train.
Thank you for all of the emails and comments of support that instantly lifted me out of the fog and reminded me why the past 388 days of homelessness is worth every moment.
On Sunday afternoon, as I walked through the sunny streets of Toronto, I wasn’t crying. Instead, I was shaking my head in Holy Sh!t Happiness.
Our group of 12 is complete and each participant has signed up, paid the deposit, and is now probably asking themselves, what the hell have I done?

Oh, Terri! I’m excited for you and the lucky dozen. I imagine you’re feeling somewhat anxious and excited because you know the wide range of emotions and experiences that are instore for them. This will be amazing for the rest of us to follow all of your journeys.

Thank you so much, Terri, for providing this opportunity to serve for my sister, who is one of the chosen 12. I am running a Half Marathon to help raise support for the trip in December. I only ran my first one, ever, this past Sunday! And while I was running I started to wonder if my sister was ever chosen. I forgot to check on the outcome of that. So on the way home from the race I called her and found out she was and said, “I want to run a race for you!” So……thanks for your bravery and for starting this idea and opportunity for her : )

Thanks so much for sharing this, Terri! I can’t tell you how excited I am for you and the 12 other amazing cancer survivors to go on this journey. For many of us in North America, whose lives have become so enveloped by money and status, it’s very humbling to see people truly doing good in this world and focusing on what matters most. Keep it up!
