Once in a Lifetime Adventure

A Fresh Chapter’s once-in-a-lifetime partner, G Adventures is an adventure travel pioneer with a passion for sustainable tourism and a fantastic reputation in the travel industry.

During our once-in-a-lifetime weekend, we will travel to the Arenal Volcano region, which is in the beautiful rainforest region of Costa Rica. You will have the opportunity to experience the flora and fauna and the majesty of nature as well as option to get your adrenaline pumping with an optional zip lining experience next to the majesty of the volcano.

Medical

We have designed our program to be accessible at all stages of the cancer journey. However, our once-in-a-lifetime experience in Costa Rica includes a journey into the rainforest, which takes us away from the major medical centers of San Jose. You need to be comfortable traveling in a bus for 6-8 hours as well as being away form a major medical center for at least two days. All participants will need a medical clearance from their doctors prior to participating in the program.

Accommodations 

• We will be staying overnight in a beautiful hotel in the Arenal Volcano region. Participants will have roommates and private bathrooms.
• Most meals will be provided. One dinner will be eaten out on your own, so budget accordingly.

Packing Guide

You will leave your large suitcase back in the Orosi Valley. A smaller bag for this weekend trip is suggested (it could be your carry on bag.)

Pack layers and your raincoat. When it comes to weather in Costa Rica, it’s best to expect the unexpected.

Please plan to leave room in your budget for tipping the G Adventures guides and bus drivers.  ($10-25 dollars for our guide and $5-10 for our bus driver).
