Dear Richard Branson,
I’m one of the Lucky 12 of #Delhi2013 Dozen. This trip means giving back, writing more of the story, fresh perspectives and new beginnings. I feel drawn to India’s chaos, noise and confusion. I’m overcome by the beauty, the laughter, the dancing and the many bright colours. I can’t explain my connection to it. There is something so bright there, I want to be blinded by it. Please help A Fresh Chapter Foundation fly!
When I first met Terri, through a mutual friend, I instantly became a fan and this was before all of this began. As our friendship grew so did this universal cause. Simply put, Terri changed my life. I can’t thank the powers that be enough for Terri and for showing me what it means to driven beyond one’s self. Mr. Branson when you set your next lofty goal may I suggest that it is to meet Terri and the #Delhi2013 Dozen. They are Inspiration for us all.
I want to fly Virgin to Delhi because this company has redefined social entrepreneurship and has been so good to my friend Irene – a female captain!
Terri Wingham and A Fresh Chapter Alliance Foundation are breaking new ground by focusing on cancer survivors. Every survivor deserves a chance to write a fresh chapter in their lives. After fighting their battles with cancer, I can’t think of a better way to start over than by volunteering internationally and shining a light on cancer globally.
Sir Richard Branson and Virgin Atlantic have an opportunity to make these cancer survivors’ dreams come true. I really hope Sir Richard is listening and decides to “screw business as usual” by donating the flights the #Delhi2013 Dozen need to get to India. I guarantee it’s one adventure he’ll never forget!
If I had the power to send these 12 cancer survivors to India myself I would do it. I truly believe it will be a positive, life changing experience for them, for everyone they meet, and for all others who will inevitably follow in their footsteps. The Fresh Chapter Foundation is launching a movement about survivorship on a global scale and you, Mr Branson, can help lift them.
Wow I could write so much so I will simply let you know Mr. Richard Branson that you could help fulfill many bucket list items by making this dream a reality. This is all a dream come true!
I’m proud to have been selected as one of the #Delhi2013 dozen. Being a 4x cancer survivor I know what it’s like to live with the stigma of cancer. Over 23 years ago I was diagnosed during a time when no one spoke of having cancer. My dream is to connect with those affected by cancer in India and share with them hope and strength. This journey will be life changing in many ways but we can’t do it without generosity of others… hint hint Sir Richard Branson and Virgin. Thank you in advance for being a part of this dream.
Sir Richard Branson, I hope you get to meet Terri Wingham. It is her tireless belief to make this happen – for 12 cancer survivors it is not only about the incredible fight and adversity that bring us together but the desire to emotionally go outside boundaries of fear after cancer treatment and heal by making a difference that Terri has uniquely pioneered. As a bilateral breast cancer patient and doctor, I am now able to see cancer from Borh Sides. Back at work I heal with such fulfillment of giving back and understanding. The Delhi dozen will have a chance to start a new journey of healing as we connect together and with those in need. I hope you have the chance to be part of an incredibly inspiring group of people. It is clear that you and your Virgin Atlantic share the dream of making a difference and I think #delhi2013 is a group worth meeting.
Being part of the #Dehli2013 Dozen is going to be life changing. So much hope to to be found and given! We are reaching outside of our post cancer comfort zones, planning ahead and sharing our experiences. Please, let us share it through you and emulate what it means to “screw business as usual”.
I’m one of the lucky #Delhi2013 dozen. Having just recently finished going through my cancer experience this opportunity is a chance to re-invigorate and heal my mind, body, and soul while helping others do the same. It’s something that a year ago I wouldn’t have thought possible. I truly believe that this experience will have a positive ripple effect that reaches far beyond the us, the #Delhi2013 dozen. I hope that Sir Richard Branson and Virgin Atlantic will want to be a part of that.
I am one of the first twelve to go to India.
The following is a part of an entry from my most recent blog post (http://lovelykatielumps.blogspot.ca/2012/11/volunteering-abroad-being-healed-vs.html);
Going to India, looking into the eyes of a woman who speaks a different language, comes from a different background, and was most likely not given the same opportunities that I have been given in life, will provide a connection and a unity that someone who has never had cancer cannot understand and although we won’t be able to communicate with words, we will understand each other’s pain. The thought of that makes me feel the healing power of this trip.
This trip means a lot to not only me but also to future cancer survivors. It is so easy to feel the most isolated and the most alone after treatment ends because for months you have been monitored on a daily basis and now it’s a simple ‘See you in three months’ and your body is totally left to betray you again. This foundation will help fill a huge void in resources for survivorship and a huge void in my post-cancer life.
As sincere thank you from this cancer survivor,
Katie
An amazing dream that will change the world of volunteering as we know it!
Dear Richard Branson –
As a cancer survivor – thriver – myself, I know there is no better healing tool than purpose: fresh, bold, bigger-than-self purpose!
I beg you to pop these 12 survivors on a Virgin flight to India, where not only will they discover themselves in ways they never imagined … they’ll also contribute to the healing of our planet, guided by their audacious mentor, Terri.
Her work inspires me. I hope she will inspire you, too.

I remember two years ago when Terri first emailed with her idea about taking a group of cancer survivors on a volunteering trip around the world and asked what I thought, I thought what an amazing idea, but it’s going to be a big task to get it off the ground. Well, I didn’t reckon with Terri’s determination and faith to see it through. What she has done to take her dream from its first imaginings to this point is nothing short of incredible and not only would it mean the world to her to have Virgin support her vision of helping cancer survivors find a new meaning and purpose for their lives, but it would mean so much to the rest of us who will be accompanying this group in our hearts.
This is such a unique and life changing programme. As a Scottish woman, living in Asia for over 12 years, five of those years with an organisation working with volunteers in development, and having been diagnosed and treated with cancer while here, this work is close to my heart in so many ways. I have seen over and over the impact that volunteering brings to volunteers and to a wide sphere of those around. This work is going to be such a catalyst for positive change for the volunteers and for the communities where the volunteers will be working.
What an opportunity this is for Virgin to be associated with such a cutting edge, innovative programme!
To Sir Richard Branson,
I am one of the fortunate 12 of Delhi 2013. This is an amazing opportunity! For us, it is a means to change something tough into something touching, to expand cancer to a worldwide conversation, and use our gifts to make an impact in the lives of others. We promise, if you impact our lives by donating 12 flights, we will pay it forward ten-fold by impacting the lives of others- all for good. Thank you!
Some people speak and other people do. Terri is a a shining example of knowing what she wants and then stopping ONLY upon reaching her goal. I have watched her dream unfold. It did not have a name. It was a thought, an idea, a VISION. There are few people who step fearlessly into the unknown. She did. She inspired an entire community of bloggers who watched her dream unfold. I have come to embrace a new motto in my life, “Those who can, MUST.” Terri is doing what she can. I hope Virgin Atlantic is able to partner with her by providing a few seats for the Delhi 2013 Dozen.
Terri is so inspiring and her story will be an amazing episode of Journeys for Good, our voluntourism series for public television. She is a shining example of the power of positivity and we are so happy to have crossed paths with her. Let your amazing journey continue!!!
This is what it’s all about! Dream big, take the leap and let the adventure begin! I had the pleasure of being inspired by Sir Richard at the Summit Series in 2011. His words, vision and passion shaped a lot of my own decisions for http://www.firstdescents.org from that day forward. I trust he’ll see in this the same vision and passion that he applies to anything he does and rally behind it!
To Sir Richard Branson,
It’s a No-Brainer: Virgin Airlines is the perfect company to sponsor the A Fresh Chapter Foundation’s maiden voyage. Visionary, cutting edge, social, driven, global, daring, walking the talk (in this case, dare I say Flying the talk!)…. these are just a few of the qualities you and Terri, and Virgin and her foundation share.
After a cancer diagnosis obliterated Terri’s life as she knew it, she fought back, not only to regain her health, but to explore the world, and, here’s what’s truly outstanding: to Give Back. She discovered for herself that there is no greater healing power than to care for others. She could have stopped there.
With that, however, she chose to empower fellow cancer survivors to understand this wisdom and put it into practice for themselves and those they will soon be serving on the other side of the world.
Starting with nothing, she has built a solid program, forged international alliances, recruited 12 outstanding cancer survivors, and organized all aspects of their mission to volunteer in Delhi, India in February 2013.
Her drive, genius, gigantic heart and brilliant mind led her to accomplish this in a very short time. All that remains for this mission to succeed is for Virgin to become our Official Airline.
I say “our” because amongst other things, I am a 3-time cancer survivor, a member of the weekly #BCSM (Breast Cancer Social Media) Twitter chat, a recipient of an #ePatient Scholarship to #MedX — Stanford University’s Medicine X — and I am looking forward to volunteering with Terri and her foundation on future missions to Africa and South America.
I urge you to partner with us!
Thank you for your attention,
Sincerely,
Liza Bernstein
Volunteers are one of the most important people in the world. These are people who have dedicated their time to help others that are in need of help and love. They are more valuable in the service they provide because each one of the #Delhi2013 have walked in the shoes of those they are helping. We are no longer a country by itself. We are brothers and sisters to all people who live on this planet. Terri has started an amazing journey with 12 courageous volunteers who are taking their services to India. Your contribution Sir Branson to this cause that is aligned with your philosophy is needed NOW. You can be a light on their path as they move beyond the borders of their home to serve. Donating seats on your plane for these volunteers says you believe and support this work. Each one of us has something to give. The greater part our supporters can donate funds. You can give seats for these amazing volunteers on #Virgin. I ask you to provide the passage for all the love and support the volunteers are ready to deliver. Terri and #Delhi2013 is doing exactly what you believe: making an idea or organization such as #Virgin one of the most innovative events ever. What you did 25 years ago when #Virgin made its debut from Gatwick to Newark, you called it a miracle. Terri and #Delhi2013 are out to create a miracle too. Like you Terri and #Delhi2013 wants this trip to be the best not necessarily the largest. Flying the volunteers on #Virgin does just that. Only YOU can make that happen. I look forward to celebrating your gift in this season of giving. Thank you
Mother to one of the #Delhi2013
The first time I met Terri Wingham, I just knew she was going to do extraordinary things. This is a young woman that will truly change the world by inspiring others exponentially to do the same. It is my absolute pleasure to know and work with Terri, as well as some of the incredible survivors going on the #Delhi2013 journey. This trip is seriously magic in the making.
Sir Richard Branson and Virgin Atlantic – please support this unique and important work!
Mr. Branson,
Terri is genuinely trying to do amazing things with her organization. Through Go Overseas, we’ve helped her as much as we can. I wish we could do more! You can, and can help make a difference in the lives of thousands of cancer survivors (Terri has very big ideas). Volunteering helps the lives of so many across the world, and also permanently changes the lives and perspectives of the volunteers. Please give her organization the jump start it needs!
#Delhi2013

Terri Wingham carried us along with her blog as she completed treatment and went abroad to volunteer (which then turned into a year-long learning expedition); the warmth and commitment she encountered was really quite incredible. And yet, what also amazed me was the stigma of cancer – the pressure to keep it secret, to hide, to hold the shame.
This shame is familiar to many of us who have known cancer, and the more I read Terri’s stories, the more I realize that HEALING is needed. And in my opinion, that healing begins with open exchange & connection.
To Sir Richard Branson and the Virgin Atlantic team – Help the #Delhi2013 dream explode into a global message of healing. This concept makes so much sense, all it needs is support like yours (and in this case, support you’re so perfectly situation to provide) to grow legs and start running.
Please get in touch with Terri. Really, I’m serious, she’s well worth your time.
Catherine
When I first heard of how Terri so unselfishly chose to travel around the world to give back to others after she herself had been through so much, I knew I had to get in touch with her. After speaking with her about the 2013 trip to Delhi and her vision for A Fresh Chapter, I have become inspired by her determination and goodwill. I think Terri and the 12 other cancer survivors are an example for us all.
I urge Sir Richard Brandon and Virgin Atlantic to support this important cause!
~Lindsay Hartfiel
Sir Richard Branson and Virgin Atlantic. Not only is Terri a ‘survivor’, but she is also an inspiration with a dream. Her dream is to take 12 cancer survivors to #Delhi2013 to help these men and women move forward after their treatment to make a Fresh Chapter enable them to get back into ‘normal life’ .
Please read her story https://afreshchapter.com/about-2 and help make her dream a reality
Great to see you are still doing awesome things in social entrepreneurship Terri! The bridge your are building to close cultural gaps through group dialog and engagement is exciting, because not only do I see you pulling this off, but because I feel it is only the tip of the iceberg of what you can do. Good luck!
Mr. Branson (or #richardbranson ), please work with Terri to bring this crusade of positivity to fruition. The audacity of Virgin is alive and well in Terri, but she really could use a partner like yourself. Thanks.
Dear Sir Richard Branson,
We, as an online community that’s Facing Cancer Together, fully believe in the power of conversation, of connection, of breaking taboos, and we are certain of Terri’s capability to pull off this big crazy dream that is the Fresh Chapter Foundation and #Delhi2013.
#Delhi2013 will change lives and heal emotional wounds, but even more so, with your help it will spark a fire of awareness and global connection in the fight against cancer, shining light onto the often neglected emotional experience of the diagnosis.
This is one giant, crazy adventure. It sounds right up your alley. 🙂
Please give your support with Virgin Atlantic by flying the #Delhi2013 group, who are set on creating positive change.
(And to our http://www.FacingCancer.ca bloggers, we look forward to reading your posts!)
Sir Richard Branson, I recall seeing you backstage at the Power Within Event years ago in Toronto and you so kindly stopped to sign autographs for other volunteers backstage. India is a magical place, and you inspire others with the companies that you create. Help instill power, and revitalization into the lives of 12 amazing souls who have beat cancer and have started a fresh chapter in their lives. You are the King of PR stunts Mr. Branson and we want the whole world to know about your support of Cancer Warriors in the World! Delight the hearts of 12 and change the lives of many!
To Sir Richard Branson and the Virgin Atlantic team,
By supporting A Fresh Chapter and their efforts to fly these 12 survivors to Delhi, you would be supporting every single cancer survivor, supporter and fighter who has ever flown on a Virgin Atlantic airplane – and every one that ever will. IHadCancer.com is a place for everyone, regardless of demographic, because cancer does not discriminate and it is not limited by the boundaries of geography. Cancer is everywhere.
You have the power to raise awareness not only about survivorship, but also about the power of philanthropy to change and save lives. We hope that you and the Virgin Atlantic team have the opportunity to meet these strong individuals and work together to inspire universal understanding of cancer!
Dear Sir Richard Branson,
This dream is not about Terri, it’s about women with cancer– globally. As a cancer coach, I see the toll that cancer takes on people, and cancer doesn’t end with treatment. Life changes and most struggle with finding normalcy in life; they struggle with “looking over their shoulder” for the rest of their lives as they await the return of that cancer. Terri’s dream brings hope; it brings the chance to see not an ending, but a new beginning.
Wise words I read today: When life’s problems seem overwhelming, look around and see what other people are coping with. You may consider yourself fortunate. This is one of the many lessons these lucky 12 will come back with.
Terri believes in you, yes, and I believe in Terri. She is out to chance the faces of cancer, to make a difference.
I host a radio show, Survive and Live Well; it’s my way of giving back, to offer support globally; Terri came on the show, and I will post a link when available. Terri shared her story and her dream. But know that Terri’s dream is not for her, it is not just for these 12 women, it is for the support of all.
Gratefully yours,
Elyn
Dear Sir Richard Branson:
There is little I can add to the heartfelt comments above. By now you know that Terri is an exceptional force of nature who has already moved her share of mountains. Her courage, determination and heart inspire us all to actively heal from adversity by following our dreams. Knowing her is one of my most significant gifts of cancer and I can’t wait to see her bring this dream to life. To get it done, she’s picked you and Virgin and I can’t think of a better team.
Survival > Existence,
Debbie
What a fresh chapter and #delhi2013 stands for to me is life! Cancer takes life away and survivors show that cancer can be beat! I am so proud of Terri for saying “I am a survivor” and making a difference. This initiative is absolutely incredible and will not only change lives but it will change our world. Sir Richard Branson – this is a special unique lady and this cause will change lives. Terri has the engine and the will I hope you can fuel the engine as it will change lives just like Virgin wants to!
Although I’m known as Dr Yes there are plenty of opportunities Virgin has missed. Then again: opportunities are like buses – there’s always another one coming! ~ Richard Branson
Well Dr Yes, your bus for today has arrived and you definitely do not want to miss it! Hop on and join Terri and the Delhi Dozen as they embark on a revolutionary adventure of global cancer awareness, courage, compassion, connection and healing. I’m sure you get approached by all sorts of people with big ideas who want your support. Know that THIS is no ordinary big idea. This opportunity is pure passion, determination, and heart. Have you watched Terri’s video? It doesn’t get any more genuine than that. You’ll be blown away when you realize all that she has created in such a short period of time. Terri and these twelve inspiring individuals have an amazing amount of momentum and absolutely will reach their big, hairy audacious dreams. Receiving a call from you would be just the boost they need to jump start this adventure. Say YES! You and Virgin Atlantic will be so, so glad you did.
Mr. Branson please help my sister accomplish her audacious dream by donating the flights for the Delhi2013 dozen. I’m doing my part by running a half marathon to raise money for her trip. won’t you help to?
Cool! How are you getting funds for the race. Are people donating per mile
Yes. I was going to ask you to donate to the race as well. But you donated directly on the site before I signed up for the race. I guess you forgot and then haven’t seen all the tweets and blog post about this. Probably because you were moving, lol.
After coming across Terri’s dream to bring 12 individuals who are ready to give back to the world, even though some thing was taken from them moved me. As a recently diagnosed and treated cancer patient all I can think of is how to give back. I believe that they have picked the right company and organization to ask for help through Virgin. I would love for you Mr. Branson to help move this vision forward so that you may help the world realize how small it actually is and the difference one individual can make in the world with a little help. When one needs to be healed they must just reach out and give. I hope you see the validity in this project and are moved to action with the incredible gift of your success and its ability for you to help others..
Dear Sir Richard Branson,
If ever there was a person who exemplifies the spirit of your mission, values of life and business it is Terri Wingham. Strong yet vulnerable, imaginative yet grounded, persitent in her beliefs to create a better world and willing to risk EVERYTHING to help countless numbers of people live a better life. Sounds like your kind of woman, doesn’t it?
I met Terri volunteering in Delhi, I have seen her in compassionate action, Two minutes with her and we were connected on a deep level. She’s the kind of woman I am honored to call “soul sister” and know she will always be in my life.
Just take 5 minutes of your time to hear her story, feel her loving energy, help her as she has helped -and wants to help- countless cancer survivors in the global village we call “home.” I guarantee you will be impressed with her scope of vision, her abiding trust in building that vision because it IS the right thing to do. Terri Wingham is one of those rare individuals that make you want to be a better person and finds a cozy little place in your heart forever. I hope and pray you allow her into yours.
Namaste!
Since meeting Terry about 2 years ago I was instantly immersed in her dream and belief in what she had dreamt up. I’m lucky enough to work for BC Cancer Foundation following ‘my’ passion and I come into contact with so many amazing and inspiring people. Most of the time I call these people ‘Gamechangers’ they are changing the world one mission at a time.
Terry is a true ‘Gamechanger’
Terry I’ve watched your journey develop over the last year or two and I am truly blessed to count you among my friends.
‘What we think about we bring about’
This will happen.
Jimi
Dear Mr. Branson,
My wonderful niece Melanine Hernandez is part of this Delhi group headed to volunteer in 2013. If you could meet her in person, you would be awestruck at her strength, fortitude and love for serving others. She has been fighting cancer and yet not letting it rule her life – she intrepidly goes on every day, filling her life with what she can do for her family, friends and others.
It would be absolutely wonderful to have Virgin provide air travel for all of the people in this program. They are just your average people, doing their own fundraising to be able to afford this trip to help others, and any help they can find from different sources will increase their ability to give more of themselves rather than worry about the money.
Thank you for backing this group of wonderful, giving people.
Sir Richard Branson, I hope with all my heart that you help send these amazing people to India. Cancer has taken so much from our lives yet these wonderful individuals are throwing caution to the wind and refusing to let cancer win. They are moving forward. With the dream and inspiration of Terri Wingham nothing is out of reach. A Fresh Chapter gives these survivors the chance to prove cancer wrong and give others far more than it has taken.
Thank you for listening. I can only hope you will believe in their dreams as much as we all do!
Hi, I’m so excited to be one of the lucky 12 selected to go to India. Dealing with cancer for the past year and a half life has really pushed me around. I’ve felt pretty helpless with every aspect of my life. This trip is the first thing in my life that I’m doing to help heal my heart and soul and really feel alive again. As an artist I can’t wait to see all the colors and be inspired. It would be so kind of you to help us get there! Thank you
I am one of the 12. This trip will be life-changing–even more so than cancer was. And that’s why I want to do it. We hope you will help, because Virgin airlines and you, Mr. Branson, are the perfect partners for this. Let’s all make this happen.
Good luck Terri! Proud of you!
Dear Mr. Branson and Virgin Atlantic Airlines,
Today is my birthday, and here is my wish: PLEASE FLY THE #Delhi2013 Dozen to India by taking a chance on the biggest dreamer I know- My friend Terri Wingham. If there is anyone who is worthy of your attention- with hope to make a change in the world- it is she. A dreamer. A believer. A doer. Terri is determined to live for the greater good, living out her journey has become a mission of multiplying the strength she has gained on chance, faith, and opportunity. This Delhi Dozen is a BIG CRAZY AUDACIOUS DREAM about bringing people together- in the most influential of ways- healing globally- through good. This is a mission about nurture, about strength, about hopes and dreams and rebuilding the self while providing to those who need it most. Terri Wingham is an organized, professional, hopeful, kind, positive, sincere and wonderful human being. Please consider this long enough to take the chance to Believe in her (: I just know that you don’t want to miss out on being a part of this… So, Please… Mr. Branson- or Friends/Colleagues of Mr. Branson… TO WHOMEVER this concerns! Please, pretty, pretty please… consider this: this BIG CRAZY WISH, this BIG CRAZY AUDACIOUS DREAM and this ONCE IN A LIFETIME OPPORTUNITY to stand behind your people- the fellow dreamers- risk takers- the givers- the eternal optimists- and be a part of the Delhi Dozen Trip… Or even, something so much bigger than the Delhi Dozen… rather, the chance to experience how one person’s life becomes a timeless echoing throughout the global village… and with it, bringing HOPE to one shared race.
Thank You for Your Time.
Sincerely,

I am so impressed with the courage of the dozen cancer survivors that are embarking on a selfless journey of a lifetime to #delhi2013. Richard Branson, Virgin Atlantic Airlines, listen up! They need your help getting there, so please hear our voices, we are the MOB that needs you to provide them with some transportation in the air. Richard, we are all aware of your quote to set high goals in order to achieve them, so that’s what Terri Wingham is doing. Please HELP! Thank you.
Sir Richard – you do not want to miss the opportunity to partner with this Dynamo!
Terri is changing the world, one person, one conversation at a time. Her ability to build bridges and conquer the divide will become the stuff of legend! We are awestruck by Terri’s vision and her ability to execute with ease, with grace and with undeniable precision. We, her family, know it ain’t easy!
Terri’s Campaign will make history. Will you share in the achievement?
Much Respect,
Brother Dan
Sir Richard,
In your book, Screw It, Let’s Do It, you speak on the importance of business to do good – because they can and they should. This cannot be more true, especially when the internet allows for ideas to be shipped worldwide instantaneously, bridging civilizations and BRIDGING IDEAS FOR CHANGE faster than ever before.
What Terri and A Fresh Chapter stands for is just that – doing good and building the global village you speak so often about.
I first learned of Terri’s idea to send cancer survivors to #delhi2013 after a desperate internet search quickly revealed Terri’s brilliant concept of helping build fresh chapters in the lives of cancer survivors – giving survivors the ability to grow stronger after surviving cancer (perhaps stronger than ever before).
#delhi2013 is truly a brilliant idea. As an educator and researcher, I looked into the concept behind Terri’s business plan and Terri has hit upon an idea not yet discovered. She is about to show the world how cancer survivors can heal psychologically after shifting from care receiver to care giver. The benefits of this experience are non-existent in the post cancer surviving world.
I see a day where you and Terri sit down over a tasty beverage and discover how well A Fresh Chapter and Virgin will benefit each other. You must meet A Fresh Chapter and share a toast with 12 survivors in New Delhi, India. Build it into your advertising campaign to further celebrate Virgin Airlines new flight to New Delhi. Riding an elephant through the center of town was a pretty cool PR stunt, don’t get be wrong, but toasting #delhi2013 survivors would be even better.
Remember when you built a new newspaper because you just couldn’t sit back and let the Stowe periodical continue on? You felt the need to make a better one. This is exactly why A Fresh Chapter is here, because after surviving cancer and traveling the world to meet other survivors, we just can’t sit back and not make #delhi2013 happen. We’re building a tribe that is stronger than the hot air balloon you took around the world. I hope you extend your hand and come join the ride.
You call yourself a man of adventure, right?
Sincerely,
Mark William Guay

Thanks Lissa – We are SOO happy to be partnering with Phase One.
What a wonderful project. I am sure Sir Richard receives a lot of requests do we all need to get his attention by posting a comment and forwarding. The worldwide ripples this project can make is hard to imagine.
Dear Sir Richard, What a unique path you walk in being such an inspiration for gathering courage to take a soul leap into the unknown in the name of living a vital, dynamic life. Looking to people like you as a role model, we Delhi 12 are leaping into the unknown in hopes of promoting connection between cultures, opening portals of possibility for ourselves and others to live bigger, richer lives post cancer hardship. Thank you for supporting us in our own leap of courage and for allowing us to support all that you do to make this world a better place.
Dear Richard Branson,I urge you to join in this remarkable vision of sending 12 beautiful, courageous cancer survivors to India to share story and heart and global connection and inspiration. This is a dream that is being realized and I hope that will choose to be a part of it. Thank you for your consideration.

Sir Richard Branson,
I was fortunate to meet Terri about a year ago. We live on opposite sides of the country but found we had a lot in common. We are the same age, we were diagnosed with cancer around the same time and we are both huge fans of Oprah. I felt an immediate connection, as do many that meet Terri. She has the ability to put you at ease, listen with empathy to what you have been through and inspire you to take what you have learned from your experience and turn it into a positive. When she spoke to me about the difficult transition between fighting for your life to resuming “normal” life it really resonated with me. I am now beginning that transition and I am finding it extremely difficult. I know that Terri’s vision with her project will make such a tremendous difference in the lives of cancer survivors, as well as, the global community.
I would have loved to have applied to be part of her Delhi 12 and hope to some day. Unfortunately, I was diagnosed when my son was 6 months old and I have spent most of the past 2 and half years in treatment or in surgeries. I just had my last surgery (hopefully) a little less than 2 weeks ago. My priority now is spending some quality illness free time with my son. But I hope to someday be able to participate in Terri’s much needed program.
Even if I never have the opportunity to apply though, I strongly feel that this program is very much needed. There seems to be a huge gap in support for young adults coping with cancer and I know that this program will help to fill this void. Young adults facing cancer tend to feel more isolated because we are smaller in numbers. We also face different obstacles like issues with how our fertility will be affected and how to balance raising babies or young children throughout our treatment. Many of us are starting or are at the beginning of our careers and this type of diagnosis can have a devastating effect on our career progression or even just our ability to maintain a job. I am not trying to claim that is worse when you are diagnosed at a younger age, just that it is different and there does not seem to be a lot of support for those differences at the moment.
Please support Terri and her mission. I believe that her foundation’s goals are directly in line with the goal of your company Virgin. You have the ability to help a young cancer survivor change the world. Terri has risked everything for her goal and it is purely for unselfish reasons; Terri simply wants to help others heal and to make the world a better place. There are not many people in this world who would be willing to risk it all for this type of a dream and I believe that you Sir Richard Branson have the ability to help Terri make it happen.
Thanks you Sir RIchard Branson and Terri Wingham for all that you do.
Sincerely,
Catherine Birch
Dear Sir Richard,
I can’t think of a better person (my friend Deirdre) or a better effort to support (cancer survivors volunteering!). Please help these lovely people get to India for this wonderful opportunity!
Sincerely,
Ann Weber
Dear Sir Richard,
I sincerely hope this proposal comes to fruition. The hearts, minds and souls of these survivors are some of the greatest commodities the world has to share. Don’t waste them. Honor the lights within them and let them shine.
Namaste,

Dear Sir Richard ~
Your support in getting these privileged survivors to India would be an inspiration in every direction – for them, for the people they meet in India and for their
communities when they return.
Thank you in advance for the help you will so generously give!

Supporting dreams and encouraging great people.
Sir Richard Branson
Just when you think life is all on track and have worked harder than ever to get to a dream job as a doctor, cancer knocks you sideways – then again and again. Sometimes you never think you have the strength to cope with more, but you do. The fear takes over and you fight beyond it. It is saying yes to to life now – meeting and being inspired by other young cancer survivors whose attitude recalibrates boundaries. I do hope you get to meet these 12 amazing people. The energy is infectious.
I truly think this is the type of character that brands you and Virgin Atlantic – going outside boundaries of cancer, kicking away the fear that comes with cancer and celebrating life by giving back and leaving a mark on this world to know we matter.
Dr Alexandra Ginty MD Family physician with a passion to help others through adversity, extreme snowboarder (despite a few chemo fractures) , tennis fanatic, wakeboarder, bilateral cancer survivor and one of the very lucky dozen.
I do hope we have the chance to represent Virgin Atlantic.
Dear Sir Richard,
As a medical oncologist from a high-income country who has volunteered to improve cancer care in low-income countries for the better part of a decade, I can attest to the critical importance of innovative, bold initiatives like what Terri’s. Terri has the requisite determination, drive, and down-right chutzpah to make this HAPPEN. Wouldn’t it be a perfect match for Virgin Atlantic to lend it’s support behind something so positive and worthwhile? People like Terri are one in a million (or more!) and I’m sure you’d be duly impressed by what she’s already achieved so soon after her own battle with cancer.
Please consider supporting her in this courageous appeal!

Thank you so much. I continue to be so inspired by your work too.
Thank you for joining us on this incredibly audacious adventure! Together we are a powerful voice for change, hope, and connection across our global village.
Sir Richard, Please help these feisty individuals by giving them the opportunity of a lifetime to travel to India together. Speaking from my own experience, each one has been through the waking nightmare of cancer, but he or she is not defeated. Quite the opposite, each one of the Delhi Dozen is ready to dream big. This trip will give them new hope, new inspiration, and in turn, inspire the rest of us. Cancer really sucks. You can help them have a truly transformative experience that will help take some of the suckiness away while doing good for others. It’s a win-win.
Sir Richard Branson,
Please help these amazing survivors achieve their dreams in Delhi. I was diagnosed with breast cancer at 26 years old and was lucky enough to have Terri support me through my darkest days. She is now leading 12 other fortunate survivors through the ultimate healing journey. You will not only helping these big dreamers, you will be helping them transform lives for the better. I cant think of a better reason for Virgin to be on board.
Please help this amazing woman fulfill her dream and help them get to India
Anyone would be crazy not to want to be part of such an amazing mission! Virgin especially should be honored to be targeted!
Sir Richard Branson,
This is an opportunity I hope you do not pass up. I know you are a busy man, but I think you will find it hard to resist supporting an initiative like this one. By you and Virgin participating, you will help create an unforgettable experience for these 12 cancer survivors. This positive impact would no doubt extend well beyond the survivors, but to everyone they reach out to around this incredible trip. Your attention and support of this would be so very appreciated by many, many people around the world.

Sir Richard Branson,
This is a beautiful thing for Virgin Atlantic Airlines to be a part of….to support such an inspiring, meaningful trip would be tremendous. We all have things happen in our lives that truly change us for the better and now VAA can help be a part of that.
Sincerely,
Christine
Dear Sir Richard,
Being over 6 years past my diagnosis of cancer, I have had the luxury of time to reflect on what if means to be a cancer survivor. As a 2010 winner of a “Face of Opportunity” grant of 10 international flights, I know what a powerful tool international travel can be in moving past your illness. For me, it meant realizing how incredibly lucky I was, how truly connected we all are, and how important it is to give back to those less fortunate than ourselves. What I learned on these journeys inspired me to create Global Focus on Cancer (GFC),a non-profit dedicated to raising awareness, providing support and creating a global network of communication for cancer patients, cancer survivors, their caregivers and medical professionals around the world. We work to create cancer awareness programs and cancer support groups in countries where access to information about cancer is critically lacking. I know that the Delhi 12 will come out of this experience with a passion for continued public service and a renewed drive to live their lives to the fullest. I would hope that you would consider supporting this wonderful project and what it will mean both to the Delhi 12 and the many lives their volunteer service will touch in India. They are all an inspiration!
With warm regards,
Carolyn Taylor
Dear Sir Richard Branson,
I have such profound respect for people like you who use their resources for enhancing goodness in our world. And, the same respect goes to Terri and to these courageous survivors who are filled with hope, and a vision to give back again and again.
My friend, Deirdre Wilcox, is one of the 12 who has been chosen to be ambassadors of hope and models of giving back to those in need. Deirdre is a beacon of light and wisdom in her community, and such an example of moving forward with faith and dedication to her healing and the healing of others. If she is inspired, willing and excited to embark on this journey, then I wholeheartedly know it is an adventure that will bless many people over and over again.
Please support this team of angels who are giving their time for healing, peace and connection. Thank you.

Giving people a life experience who almost lost everything is the most remarkable gift of all. Please help Richard.
What an inspiring story and an inspiring young woman-please help her make her dreams come true!
Dear Sir Richard
Please support the gift these courageous cancer survivors are giving not only to other cancer survivors but to all of us in their example of what humans can do through compassion and giving to others.
Thank you,
Margarita
Sir Richard Branson ~
These cancer survivors have so much to gain and so much to offer by sharing their experience, lessons learned, and wisdom with others in India. Please do all you can to see that Virgin Atlantic Airlines provides tickets for them to carry out their courageous and compassionate adventure.

Dear Sir Richard Branson
Tis the season to BELIEVE, tis the season to GIVE.
I BELIEVE that you will find it in your heart to GIVE these 12 courageous women passage to India so that they can continue to to provide truth from the old adage that it is better to give than receive. That is a gift and a legacy that will pay it forward infinitely.
I BELEIVE that you will make this possible!
Sincerely,
Dale Arnet
Sir Richard Branson,
You have an incredible opportunity to support my friend Terri and her foundation, A Fresh Chapter. When I met Terri, I was amazed by her determination and dedication. After a week long adventure with 12 other cancer survivors, we spent 5 hours in the car together, talking about life, love, faith, cancer, and recovery. Terri spoke passionately about her experiences abroad and how those experiences helped her recognize her purpose as a woman and as a survivor. She has created an amazing community with A Fresh Chapter and I know she will be an incredible force of change and positivity for cancer survivors like me. Please be a force for good in the lives of Terri and the other 12 survivors going to Delhi in 2013.

Dear Sir Richard,
Please join in the spirit of hope and inspiration shared by this group of cancer survivors and their dream of volunteering in India. They’re counting on you. Make it happen!
Many thanks,

Sir Richard Branson –
I was lucky enough to meet Terri during her time in South Africa. It was an experience which inspired her to start something amazing – this Big, Hairy, Audacious Dream of hers to serve others, to heal others, to inspire others. I know – with YOUR HELP – this is the start of bigger, better things to come. Support this Dream, Follow this Dream, and begin to understand why all of us are so proud of her and The Delhi Dozen.
Sincerely,

Dear Sir Richard Branson,
Will you please take a moment to watch Terri’s video and support this important initiative. You will have the opportunity to make these cancer survivors dreams come true!
Dear Richard Branson,
I heard on the radio this morning that you are aiming to take a group of billionaires to walk on the moon in 2020. Now THAT’S a big, hairy audacious dream. Terri’s not moon-bound (yet!), but her dream will be equally life changing for the Delhi Dozen, as well as all of us who have the pleasure of being connected to their stories, in whatever small way. Your support would mean the world to them — and to us.
Thanks!
Chantal
Sir Richard Branson
As a father, you have dreams for your children. You picture them in many roles and do whatever you can to help them fulfil their own dreams. It was never in my dreams to have cancer touch my daughter at age 30 – but touch her it did. In the 3 years since her diagnosis I have learned so much from her about strength, determination and fortitude. She battled chemo and surgery with a stoicism that humbled me. She has now grown into a young woman who inspires me. Her first volunteer experience influenced her so much that she is now connecting survivors with volunteer organizations and the results will heal and help everyone who is touched by the experience. Each of the volunteers has been through their own battle and has come out stronger and willing to give to others.
Please help all of these inspiring people get to New Delhi and touch the lives of others in need and in so doing, be touched and healed themselves.
Thank you
Terri’s mom – Helen
Dear Sir Richard Branson & Virgin Atlantic,
“TO STAND ON THE SHOULDERS OF GIANTS” is how Terri Wingham and the Delhi2013 Dozen is going to feel when they are sitting on your plane for this life-changing journey.
Sometimes life puts us on a path that is bigger than we could have ever imagined and that life becomes our message, our purpose, and our way of offering something MUCH BIGGER for our human family.
Please support my friend Terri and this inspiring adventure. The energy you give to advancing big dreams will return to you tenfold.
With deep respect & gratitude,

I was fortunate enough to hear Terri speak to a group of breast cancer survivors last night. She is an incredible woman with an amazing dream and we are lucky to have people like her among us. She is funny, supportive, caring and above all, a huge inspiration.
Sir Richard Branson, please help Terri accomplish this wonderful idea of taking 12 cancer survivors to New Delhi. Hopefully this can be the first of many great trips that will transform many, many people’s lives.
Terri is going to succeed no matter what, but I think Virgin has a terrific opportunity to contribute to this ‘big hairy audacious dream’!
Please help Terri with her dream of taking 12 cancer survivors to New Delhi. Once you have the pleasure of meeting Terri you will know why she deserves this help from you. She has conquered her own hardships by changing her life and giving so much of it to others and her dreams/goals just keep getting bigger and bigger. She will not stop, she has only just begun! We all need a little help sometimes to get going. Doing this for her and the 12 she is taking with her will change those 13 lives BUT 100s along with it. She inspires myself and so many others on a daily basis…
Thank you!!
As a cancer survivor myself I am inspired by this group. Please help make their dreams come true by getting them to India!
Simply said…you would be crazy not to support this amazing group of people. Please help Terri and her dream of taking 12 cancer survivors to New Delhi!
Dear Richard Branson,
Please take a moment to watch Terri’s video and help support this important and inspiring initiative.
Please help this inspiring group of cancer survivors get to New Delhi and be a part of something amazing!
This sounds like an amazing opportunity for these wonderful cancer survivors. Please help support Melanie and this inspirational group Mr. Branson!
We can not wait to welcome Terri and her intrepid 12 to New Delhi, India. Terri has visited us at CanSupport and is well aware of what a stigma cancer still carries in our country. Cancer survivors of all ages who we look after in our home care and day care programmes need to know that they are part of an international community of survivors who care for them and want to make their cancer experience less painful. Richard Branson you are one of my heroes. Please help us start a fresh chapter here in New Delhi.
Dear Sir Richard Branson,
Terri is not only a fellow cancer survivor, visionary, a warrior, a philanthropist but she is also a soul sister of mine! We connected through cancer – both being young adult cancer survivors. Even though I hate cancer, I love cancer for the people it has brought me into my life, like Terri. Her vision and her drams are so big and she has so much love in her heart and tenacity to change the way we see cancer, the way we can take our power back after such a taxing experience, and to change the face of adversity into something where we can give back to a world that needs so much love, connection and unity. Terri stands for all of this with her mission and more. We need people like Terri who are here to make a big impact, to change the way we see tragedy and to change the minds of people from fear to love one person at a time. She is one of you, and together you both can bring about healing to the world that so desperately needs it with a movement and legacy she is creating. Please share you love and heart with her first project of #Delhi2013
From our hearts to your, we thank you!
Abundant blessings,

Keeping the “Mob for Good” going. Come on, Richard Branson and Virgin Atlantic. We really need to make this dream a reality. It IS Christmas time! I think it is the perfect time for giving.
Dear Sir Richard Branson:
I have recently met a young woman, Terri Wingham. I have copied a very short bio from her website https://www.afreshchapter.com :
“Terri Wingham is a global-volunteer, world-traveler, hope-revolutionary, storyteller, photographer, daughter, sister, friend, wine lover, post-wine booty shaker, and breast cancer survivor.
The recent six month Adventure of Hope laid the groundwork for the Fresh Chapter Foundation, which will create opportunities for other cancer survivors to begin to heal emotionally by volunteering internationally.
Do you want to learn more about the latest BIG HAIRY AUDACIOUS DREAM? Check out the Delhi 2013 page and join us for the adventure of a lifetime!”
Richard, I cannot begin to express the admiration and hope I have for Ms. Wingham. Her website is so all encompassing that I would surely not do her justice to pick and choose a few of her accomplishments and dreams to share with you. I hope you take the time to investigate her website and links.
Recently the Canadian Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Association (CCTFA) awarded twenty exemplary Canadian women with their outstanding contribution to cancer survivors. My daughter, Katie Evans, was one member of this elite group of awardees which included the likes of Beverly Thompson (CTV), Cynthia Mulligan (CITYTV), Libby Znaimer, Bif Naked, four Canadian doctors, Terri Wingham, and the list continues. I believe it was the CCTFA that began the Look Good Feel Better programs at our cancer hospitals.
My darling daughter has known Terri since shortly after Katie’s breast cancer diagnosis at the tender age of 26. Katie has extolled Terri’s ability, humility and compassion since meeting her. Katie also extends her knowledge and compassion to women (and men) who are freshly facing a cancer diagnosis or who are providing support to individuals with this disease. http://www.facingcancer.ca/thebaldandthebeautiful/
I have only been in Terri’s company twice, the evening before the CCTFA awards luncheon, as well as the award ceremony itself. She’s going places. She has vision. She has determination. She has a caring and adventuresome spirit.
As Terri was sitting in our hotel room the three of us were discussing her plans for an upcoming pilgrimage to Delhi, India, next year. This trip will include only twelve people. These amazing cancer survivor adventurers are taking their vacation time, or simply their own ‘time’ to make this trek to India to help, educate, listen and learn. These amazing cancer survivor adventurers are paying for this experience themselves through fundraising, or simply out of their own pockets. It is my hope that, especially at this time of year, you could find it in your heart to provide return air transportation to the twelve angels who are reaching out to others in need. These are everyday people, who in reality probably can’t afford to take this trip, but who feel they really can’t afford not to.
I truly hope you take this correspondence to heart and take the time to investigate the information I’ve provided. I truly believe that you and Ms. Wingham would make an unbeatable team and that together you could help so many.
Sincerely,
Gabrielle Gignac
Mr Richard Branson.
You couldn’t pick a better person to represent your brand than Terri. She approaches everything that she does with a whole heart, and a keen eye on maintaining integrity in a supportive way.
I hope you get a chance to experience that strength of character for yourself when you help support her Delhi2012 trip!
Molly Huber
Dear Sir,
I am sure you are constantly inundated with requests such as these, yet I hope you can find it in your heart to help this fine cause and good folks to accomplish their dream. Thanks !!!!
Dear Richard Branson,
Your turn to pay it forward. Send these cancer survivors to Delhi so that they may pay it forward. This is how we make the world a better place!
Debi Tucker
Dear Richard Branson,
Seems like you are doing a lot of good with your company’s nonprofit organization. Please help these ladies achieve a dream!

Dear Sir Richard Branson and Virgin Airlines Team,
Please consider sending Terri and her fellow cancer survivors to India for free. You will not regret it. Terri has a tireless work ethic, passion and integrity. The volunteer mission she plans to do will give hope to all those involved.
Thank you.
Dear Mr. Branson,
How amazing to have the ability to make so many dreams come true! Please do what you can to help.
Best regards,
Rebecca Addicks-Salerno
Dear Richard Branson,
I double dog dare you to send all these wonderful, brave and inspiring people to India!
I had the privilege of graduating with one of the Delhi2013 group. It would mean the world to Melanie to have the airfare covered by your company to make financing the trip easier, and it will be amazing positive publicity for your company! Everybody’s a winner!
Dear Sir Richard,
Terry deams big, follows through on her dreams and effects change where ever she goes – she’s a sensational woman making our world a better place. I’m a cancer research doctor specializing in the area of Survivorship and Terry is one of those unique individuals who takes heartache and disappointment and turns it into opporutnity for others to recover from cancer in a meaningful and purposeful way. I
hope you’ll support the Delhi 12, their lives will be chaged forever and who knows maybe they’ll change the world in many unimaginable ways through their connections with cancer survivors in India.
Just a little over a year ago, Terri Wingham and I were introduced via a #FridayFollow on Twitter. I don’t think either one of us have been the same since.
Like Terri, my wife is a breast cancer survivor – a story I told at TEDxAustin (http://youtu.be/afMjZgvtsp8) That TEDx talk also talks about how my Maureen’s cancer led to CLOUD – an organization redefining the connections between people by redefining the Internet.
Connections matter. For a cancer patient/survivor, it is all about connections b/w fellow survivors, friends or that connection to a life saving cancer therapy. Virgin has made connections throughout its history just like the connections it makes between people as it flies them throughout the world on its global network of aircraft and routes.
One of the most important connections for a cancer survivor is with their future. Watching my wife go through chemo, we always had to be sure to discuss not just the now but the future, our future, our kids’ future and our dreams. In many ways, we needed to keep writing A Fresh Chapter in our story.
Terri has had the guts to change her life, just like I’ve changed my life, and just like you Richard keep rewriting your own book and the story of Virgin. The DelhiDozen stand to make a real difference. Virgin can not just help write 12 new chapters but by flying these folks across the Pacific will forge connections in India that will ripple forward and make positive change for others.
Get ’em there!
I have not had the privilege of meeting Terri in person yet, but upon my own diagnosis just over a month ago, I contacted her, a complete stranger and she took the time to write back, and over the past month has made me feel like I’m not alone and I will make it “to the other side” as she said, and plan a Fresh Chapter of my own.
Please help this AMAZING woman fulfill her audacious dream. Seize the opportunity to change peoples lives for the better.
Thank you
Stephanie Laperle
Lets get them there!!!
Incredible concept. Hoping that this video is heard by the right people.
Dear Mr.Branson and the Virgin Team;
Please send Terri and her team to India. Terri really inspired me listening to her video. I am sure Terri and the other breast cancer surviors will inspire the woman in India. They need to know that they are not the only one, and to have a great supported person like Terri will mean more to those woman then you will ever know. I am so proud of Terri to take this on and thankful to her brother Dan for giving me the opportunity to hear Terri speak.
I have not met Terri in person, but I can see from her video and her site that she has the energy, courage and strength to make this happen. Please help her to make this dream a reality, not everyone takes the time to try to make a difference, and when someone like Terri does, we all have to do what we can to support her. Here is one of my favourite quotes from an unknown source “I wondered why somebody didn’t do something, then I realized I am a somebody”. Terri IS a somebody, and I can tell she WILL do something amazing, if given this opportunity 🙂

Good luck. What an amazing inspiration you are…
Good luck Terri and the Delhi2013 group! What a truly selfless and inspiring thing you are doing!! Hope you get there!
Dear Sir Richard,
This is a worthy and inspiring idea. I hope that you can help give it wings!
Dear Sir Branson!
You have the power in your hands to make the dreams of 12 cancer survivors a reality by sponsoring their journey to India-where they will give selflessly to others who are battling for survival! Please hear the call of opportunity knocking and lend your support to this incredible cause led by Terri Wingham at a Fresh Chapter Alliance Foundation!

Dear Sir Branson
I am a registered nurse who went to school to learn how to help people. There are days at my job when I struggle because I can not help but this is something I feel strongly about. I believe that once someone has given their all in a fight against cancer that they deserve to have the opportunity to do something as powerful as what Terri is offering! I wish that I was in a position to help Terri but this is the only thing I can do! Please watch her video and support the “Delhi 2013” Thank you!
Dear Sir Richard Branson,
I first met Terri on my own volunteer trip to Peru this past May and I can easily say that she is one of the most inspiring people I have ever met. Her dreams are bigger than life and if you invest in Terri’s dream of flying her Delhi 2013 group to India, I promise you that you won’t be disappointed in what she can accomplish. Volunteering internationally has changed my life and by helping the Delhi Dozen you are giving these people the opportunity to make a life long impact of their second chance at life!
Thank you 🙂
Sir Richard Branson! You don’t want to miss out on this opportunity to make such a profound difference! We plead with you to support this cause. Many thanks in advance for your support!
Sir Richard Branson
I am the daughter of a mother who died of breast cancer when I was very young. So young no one spoke of the big “C” . This many years later Terri is such an inspiration to me. Especially to how everyone is involved to create a positive time for not only the cancer survivor, but to all those also affected by this….Please help to complete this dream..
Sir Richard Branson,
There are twelve Brave cancer survivors that want to fight cancer globally. Their strength, persistance and endurance will change the world for the better. We need your support to realize this dream. A dream that we all, no matter where we come from, basically want and need the same things to survive in this chaotic world.
Hear our voices. We won’t stop until we are heard.
Thank you
Sir Richard Branson, This is an amazing and inspiring opportunity to take people out of something so awful and turn it into a meaningful, life-changing experience. I think it would be a fantastic gift if you would send these survivors to India!
Dear Sir Richard Branson
I am a two-time breast cancer survivor and activist, and I know too well how this experience destroys lives. One way to prevent such ruination is to give meaning to our affliction by helping others, and Terri Wingham has done this with her own life by volunteering in impoverished regions of the world. But she did not stop with just her life, but wants to pass along the life-giving power of service to a dozen breast cancer survivors who want to make a difference in the world beyond breast cancer.
I hope you will see what an honor it would be to partner with Terri and A Fresh Chapter by sponsoring the Dehli Dozen in their mission.
Thank you!
Jamie Inman
Dear Sir Branson and anyone else able to help,
I have had the privilege of meeting Terri Wingham and witnessing her passion for this project. As the mom of a beautiful 19 year old girl who sadly did not have the chance to start her own “fresh chapter”, I urge you to help fund this incredible opportunity. Had my daughter survived her cancer, I know she would have jumped at this chance.
Having started my own organization to support adolescents with cancer, Terri’s commitment to helping others find meaning and purpose resonates deeply with me. Life without purpose is just passing time and anyone who has faced cancer knows that time is too precious to just let pass by.
Just days before my daughter died, she asked me to promise that I would use what I had learned from her “to make a difference – to make things better.” You can help Terri do just that!
Sincerely,
Lauren Spiker, Executive Director
Melissa’s Living Legacy Teen Cancer Foundation

As a physician and double breast cancer survivor, I know how hard it is to pick up the pieces after so much treatment and move on past that terrifying year of determination. In giving back, we are fulfilled – it fills the huge emotional pit of fear that comes after cancer treatment in young survivors. My work as a doctor has helped heal me and I am going to Delhi with Terri and the Delhi dozen as we heal emotionally by giving to those without on a mission of hope, education and ambassadorship for cancer. We will be able to share and inspire as these 12 amazing young people share their stories and positive attitudes. I hope this will be a landmark of many survivor journeys:
I share positive thinking cards that I developed when cancer was tough with my friends and patients and try to live life by them as I continue:
pay forward kindness, fulfillment comes from within, hang out with positive people, go beyond comfort zones, trust is the opposite of fear, lead with your heart, make things happen – they don’t always fall in your lap, believe in yourself, attitude, share the joy of life…..
Terri emulates so many of these phrases and I feel privileged to be chosen to go to Delhi with these amazing people. It is a testament to attitude, perseverance and believing in a dream with all your heart that I feel represent what you and Virgin have become. I do hope you support and allow us to represent what Virgin stands for.
Dr Alexandra Ginty MD CCFP(EM) FCFP breast cancer survivor and Delhi dozen participant
I am a cancer survivor whose life was enriched by Terri being in it. I don’t often use the word self-less but in regards to the unlimited kindness and perseverance Terri shows on behalf of others, the word must be used. Terri’s desire to better the world and the lives of others is the real deal and deserves to be championed by those who have the power to do so.
Please help out my friend Terri and these 12 cancer survivors!!! Thank you!
As the mother of one of the #Delhi 2013 group, I urge you to support their trip to India on one of your Virgin flights. I have watched my daughter suffer through breast cancer surgery and treatment with such humor, grace and courage that just to remember it brings tears to my eyes. She is one of the most giving persons I have ever known and now she and 11 others want to share their experiences and offer support to others like them in India. Please add your support to their worthy goal.
The “after” in treatment is what we all long for, what we use every breath to move towards. But what happens when you get there and your new world isn’t roses and sunshine? It’s a struggle we each face in our journey with cancer. But it’s the way in which you handle this journey and the world around you that shapes your new role in life. This trip to India is the perfect start to your unofficial do-over, I wish the #Delhi2013 dozen a safe journey and hope Mr Branson will support this worthwhile endeavor.
[…] history. You are amazing. Yes, YOU! It’s because of your 1300+ Tweets, 950+ Facebook shares, 129 comments, and 800+ views of our video message to Sir Richard Branson that we heard from […]
From the moment I first “met” Terri via a SKYPE call with a mutual dear friend, I knew that I was sharing space with incredibly strong & dynamic soul. At the time she was just wrapping up her trip in India to find herself off again to Africa where she would to be working with local villagers. On that call Terri shared her dream of A Fresh Chapter and the mission to connect humanity through life changing illness and challenges. To unite people from different parts of the world to help, connect, heal and to enrich each others lives. THAT mission Sir Richard Branson IS what a Global Village, you speak of, is truly about. Please consider partnering with Terri, A Fresh Chapter and #Delhi2013 to bring volunteers to India. You are not only someone we all admire greatly, but you are also that someone special that I feel can deeply understand how powerful and worthy of a partnership this is. Please hear our voices and feel the passion for Global Unity and wellness that Terri is so courageously bringing forth. Her work and the work of AFC volunteers will affect many – and as we know that only causes a ripple effect to touch even more lives.
Terri’s an inspiration for us all. xo

Wow, my heart goes out to you Terri. It is easy to see that deep in your soul that you won’t give up until you have reached all your goals. I not only see the determination in your beautiful blue eyes when I watch your video’s but I see compassion deep inside of you. That compassion and drive will take you far, breaking down boundaries along the way. Your selfless ways and your inspiration will help so many women in India. I have no doubt that you will be make it there, you are so very inspiring. When something as awful as cancer hits someone, it really opens a person’s eyes as to what is really important in this world. I don’t even know you Terri, but you have touched me. Your determination and your strength will get you to India and I have a feeling that you won’t stop there. The world need more people like you in it!!!
