A Fresh Chapter Ignite Expansion
Empowering Diverse Patient Populations &
We are living in unprecedented times. A global pandemic has left millions of cancer patients and survivors feeling isolated and afraid. A social justice crisis has put a magnifying glass on the dramatic health inequities in our country. We need innovative solutions in order to create lasting change.
A Fresh Chapter’s programs answer this call. We go far beyond the traditional support group model to address the emotional fallout of cancer. Since 2013, fostering diversity, inclusion, and health equity while building connections across cultures has been in our DNA.
Now, we want to expand our impact. Scaling our virtual Ignite Experience will allow our transformational programming to serve diverse populations, including communities that have been disproportionately impacted by health disparities and COVID-19. Through this expansion, we will continue to do what we do best: create rich cross-cancer, cross-cultural connections.
AFC IGNITE is a free virtual 10-week program for cancer patients, survivors, and caregivers representing all stages and types of cancer to heal their emotional scars and find connection, growth, and belonging.
What We Do & Where We Are Going
A Fresh Chapter (AFC) is a non-profit organization that strives to heal the emotional scars of cancer. Through our programs, we:
- Facilitate life-changing personal growth, leadership, and volunteer experiences that lead to new perspectives, possibilities, and purpose
- Empower diverse groups of women and men to step beyond the label of patient, survivor, or caregiver and transform the adversity of cancer into growth
- Provide participants with the tools, support, and community that can help them cope, and even thrive, in the midst of challenging circumstances
In 2019, AFC set an audacious goal to transform the lives of one million people impacted by cancer by 2025. To accomplish this goal, we are setting out on a three-phased program to scale our innovative, 10-week virtual Ignite Experience to ultimately reach thousands of patients, survivors, and caregivers from diverse populations, including communities that have been disproportionately impacted by COVID-19.
Join us to scale a solution designed to foster inclusion, reduce health disparities, and empower the next generation of diverse cancer advocates.
